Cardiovascular Diseases

"Cardiovascular Diseases" in South Asians by Dr. Kevin Shah of UCLA.

Dr. Jignesh Patel arranged for this speaker. It was an in depth account of great vulnerability of south asian population in USA for propensity to develop CVD and related problems.

Factors discussed and emphasized were:

  • Our coronaries are narrow and thick

  • We do not eat well

  • Vegetarians do not eat healthy

  • We do not do enough exercise

  • We do not manage stress well

  • Alcohol in moderation is not bad!

  • Lean meat is beneficial.

It was an eye opener for many and was enjoyed by all!
